Australian Calisthenics Federation Secures First-Ever Play Well Investment Funding
The Australian Calisthenic Federation (ACF) has been awarded Play Well Investment funding from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) for the 2026/27 financial year — the first time calisthenics has received this investment.
The funding forms part of a broader federal commitment to national participation, with the ASC confirming 58 national sporting organisations will receive targeted Play Well funding this year to build safe, inclusive and community-accessible sporting environments. The ACF is one of two sports being formally integrated into this national grassroots participation funding framework for the first time this round.
“Receiving Play Well investment funding for the first time is a significant milestone for calisthenics, reflecting the work we’ve put into building a national participation strategy, strengthening our governance, and engaging closely with the ASC. This funding will support our Play Well strategy and new Participation & Product Development Officer role — helping us deliver on our purpose: More People, More Ways, Calisthenics Everywhere,” said Natalie Wallace, Board Chair, ACF.
“This investment gives us the ability to turn our participation strategy into action on the ground — from new programs that reach kids who’ve never tried calisthenics, to better support for the coaches and volunteers who make our sport possible. We’re determined to make sure every state feels the benefit of this funding, and that it translates into real, measurable growth for calisthenics across Australia,” said Megan Taylor, National Operations Mangager, ACF.
The ACF will share further detail on specific participation initiatives once internal planning is finalised in the coming weeks.
