COMPETITIONS

The ACF Nationals have long been a cornerstone of Australian Calisthenics, bringing the community together in a celebration of skill, artistry, and competition. But as the sport evolves, so do the needs of its participants. To ensure that Nationals remain relevant, accessible, and inclusive, the Australian Calisthenics Federation (ACF) partnered with McLaughlin Sports Consultants to commission a comprehensive review of the current competition model.

This evidence-based review, conducted in late 2024 / early 2025, gathered insights from athletes, coaches, officials, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement. The findings will inform a refreshed vision for Nationals, shaping the development of the upcoming ACF National Competition & Event Framework (NCEF). This framework will establish clear structure, expanded participation pathways, and greater consistency across all national events.

From 2026, the ACF will commence a strategic, evidence-informed rollout of the National Competition & Event Framework (NCEF)—a transformative model built to foster sustainable growth, inclusivity, and excellence across all levels of the sport.

The NCEF will be implemented over four years through a series of pilots designed to:

  • ✅ Ensure scalability and long-term functionality
  • 🔍 Refine delivery through participation data and operational insights
  • 🗳️ Assess readiness and appetite across States, Clubs, and competition levels.

This phased approach enables the NCEF to grow in alignment with community needs and national capacity, laying the foundations for a resilient and future-focused sport built on transparency, innovation, and competitive integrity.
